Once again, IKEA is well known and revered for it’s creative and ingenious approach to home styling and small space living. In the studio apartment space seen above, every inch of the square footage is utilized, from the the ceiling mounted hanging system that serves as both a TV media console and shelving unit to the hanging curtain in the corner which hides the bathroom. Chairs for dining are hung on the wall to open up floor space and a panel is installed in the ceiling to create a privacy option separating the bedroom form the rest of the studio.
A studio can be a stressful space if it’s not designed well. Create some privacy by blocking off your bed from the rest of the space. This will create a sleeping zone and will keep it from being a part of the rest of the room all the time. IKEA has done just this in the studio above. By pushing the bed in the corner, they designate it as it’s own space. The shelving at the end of it can be used for the bedroom zone or the living room zone on the other side. The best part? The TV can face either side, too!
